Light and shadow, once tools of painting, become sculptural material and atmosphere, transforming solid forms into fleeting impressions and suggesting a renewed exploration of how figuration and mood can be shaped beyond the canvas.
FR – Chiaroscuro Studies transpose des sculptures en plâtre dans l’univers de la photographie en noir et blanc afin de réinterroger la tradition picturale du clair-obscur. La lumière et l’ombre, jadis outils de la peinture, deviennent matière sculpturale et atmosphère, transformant des formes solides en impressions fugitives et ouvrant une nouvelle exploration de la manière dont figuration et ambiance peuvent être façonnées au-delà de la toile.
DE – Chiaroscuro Studies führt Gips-Skulpturen in den Bereich der Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie, um die malerische Tradition des Chiaroscuro neu zu befragen. Licht und Schatten, einst Werkzeuge der Malerei, werden zu skulpturalem Material und Atmosphäre, verwandeln feste Formen in flüchtige Eindrücke und eröffnen eine erneute Auseinandersetzung damit, wie Figuration und Stimmung jenseits der Leinwand gestaltet werden können.
